Children's Church

Children age 4 through 5th grade are invited to attend Children's Church following the Children's sermon during Sunday worship. There is no Children's church the first Sunday of every month so that families may participate in communion together. 

The story of Ruth and Naomi will be the focus for Children’s Church during the months of February and March.  We will learn lessons in love, sacrifice and kindness.  Basic concepts are:

• God is always present even in times that seem hopeless.
• God’s love and grace are for all persons; even those we feel are inferior.
• God’s children are called to demonstrate God’s love to others.
• When we are faithful to God, God is faithful to us.
• God, with the blessings of a community of faith, never leaves us alone.

Children’s Lenten Mission Project:
The children will take up a special collection after the children's sermon each Sunday in Lent.  We’re asking that you keep a record of what you would drink during the week and calculate the cost of what you would have spent on sodas, coffee, tea, milk, juice and other beverages.  Consider donating the money you saved.

All donations will be designated for UMCOR’s Mother and Child Survival program to improve community health by providing clean water through well construction, piping and water storage tanks.

Ahoy mateys!   Pirates Bad Beard, Squid Lips, Barnacle Babe and lots of other hearties charted their course for some swashbuckling fun in September.  All the swabs hunted for buried booty and ate them some grub with kiddie spirits.    Ye best be readin the newsletter for more events….Arrr! Children’s Ministry collects soda can tabs which are donated to Ronald McDonald House to support their ministry.  A marked container is on the Missions Table in Reed Hall.  Thank you for your support!
